I have been drawing for a long time
and certain lines and shapes have emerged and stayed with me.
They are organic in nature and feel very personal to me
as they reflect my spiritual connection with the natural world.
These figures are an integral part of my painting
and they form the basis of my work.
Sometimes they end up in abstract landscapes,
sometimes in familiar structural spaces.
I like to explore how certain forms create a personal presence
in various environments,
how they are able to move the work
away from something purely conceptual to something more visceral -
a meditation that exists in the space
between what we see
and what we know.
